:::if you know that my turbo is dead, skip this part::: For anyone who doesn't know what's going on with my Z, I swapped over the GT2530's, boosted twice (~17psi), and it wouldn't boost over ~2psi after that (click my profile and see posts in the general forum to see my previous post for more details). I got the engine out last weekend, took the downpipes and intake piping off to inspect the turbos... here's the stuff I don't recall.:::new information::: The drivers side turbo is blown, no doubt in my mind. Too much shaft play, and the bearings are loud, but it still spins relatively freely. Would one blown turbo cause a condition where it would only get 2psi? Obviously, boost pressure is collectively measured at the intake plenum, but I don't remember the symptoms when I had to replace a single dead turbo last time. About a year ago, I replaced the passenger side turbo due to the exact same thing. However, as stated, I don't remember if this caused low boost or if it still boosted freely (I know it scraped the inner housings, I could hear that). :::cliff notes::: So the question is, can a single blown turbo result in less than 2psi of boost even if the other turbo is still good? I just want to know if I should keep searching for a reason that it's underboosting or if the turbo is it. TIA.
